More Package!!

Just a few more minutes until new year's eve, everyone! (Where I'm at, it's already 2016. Hehe.)

Anyway, here I am, with another package. As I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, even though I haven't been posting stuff here on the blog, I still bought stuff. One of those stuff is this package. It's been sitting in my room for quite some time now, so...

Another package!
I wonder what's inside... *wink*

Preview: BB Senshi SD RX-78-2 Gundam

Here's a preview of one of the kits for my projects next year. "Jyuzou, do you have an obsession with RX-78 Gundams or something?" Yeah, I have the EG, a HG (that I haven't finished building yet), and now this. Hmmmm... Probably? Ahehe.

I actually bought this a few months ago, as a gift for myself. So, this kit has been in my room for quiet a while now.

The second reason is because I really REALLY love SD Gundam Model kits! They're so CUTE! *squeals* And the third reason is, like I have said before, I wanted to do small kits first. Hopefully, I'll be able to post my review of this kit soon. ...and the fourth reason is because I think it would be super cool to have this side-by-side with the HG version. (Once I complete it, that is.)

Well, that's it! See you on the next post!

Anime Overview: Gundam Build Fighters Try

In 2014, I became excited again. The sequel to my favorite anime from 2013, Gundam Build Fighters, has just been announced! Although, deep inside, I'm a bit nervous. After watching Gundam Build Fighters, I thought that they've done a good job at closing the anime. I don't really know where the sequel will continue from... As I have encountered sequels in the past which I feel were just made for the sake of continuing a series to milk it more of its dough. *cough* Destiny *COUGH*

In my opinion, though, it did not disappoint. Today, we're going to take a look at Gundam Build Fighters' sequel, "Gundam Build Fighters Try"!

Gundam Build Fighters Try and its logo (pictured above) are all trademarks and owned by Sunrise, Bandai, Sotsu Agency & other associated parties.

Ok, so, first, if you haven't watched Gundam Build Fighters yet, do that first. (For my Anime Overview of that anime, click here.)

Done? Good.

So, for the sequel, the story is set 7 years after Sei Iori has won the 7th Gunpla Battle Championship World Tournament. A few things have changed here and there, but basically, the story still revolves around the same Gunpla Battling as the original series. Gundams are still very popular in the Gundam Build Fighters Try universe, and Gunpla are still flying off the shelves like Nintendo 64s. Gunpla Fighters still make use of Plavsky particles to make their Gunplas move and battle each other. A new system has been implemented, though, with a new feature for setting the intensity of battle damage during fights. This can minimize the damage taken by a Gunpla during practice battles.

However, in this series, Gunpla Battles are done in groups of three. Hmmmm... One-on-one battles still exists, but the sequel focuses on this new battle format.

With the introduction of 3-vs-3 Gunpla Battles, new strategies and fighting styles are created, resulting in more intense clashes.

...and that's it. There's really nothing much about this new anime aside from the new story that focuses on new characters. I also have to note that this anime has followed a very "Shounen"-like anime formula, even mroe so than the original. (For instance, the main character is a martial artist.. So, yeah, like G Gundam, you've guessed it right.) This does not make the show bad, don't get me wrong. The show's still good, in my opinion. (But I still prefer the original.)

So, I hope to see more Gunpla Battles in the future, and I'll see you on my next post!

Anime Overview: Gundam Build Fighters

My passion for anime has slightly faded in the last couple of years... It all started when I enrolled for what we call here a "technical course". It was a 2-year course that focused on specific technical skills rather than what the usual college courses offer. Afterwards, I started to work, and then I really got too focused on reality that I rarely do anything other than work. What does that have to do with this Anime Overview, you say? Well...

2 years ago, I started to get interested in watching anime again. I mean, not just rewatch some of the old ones that I know for the sake of nostalgia. I mean, watch some of the currently airing ones. I got hooked! I started watching anime again because of this! And it wasn't even a "proper" Gundam timeline. It was a spin-off of a spin-off (of a spin-off).

Today, we're going to take a look at "Gundam Build Fighters"!

Gundam Build Fighters and its logo (pictured above) are all trademarks and owned by Sunrise, Bandai, Sotsu Agency & other associated parties.
Yes, again, this is a spin-off of a spin-off (of a spin-off). I say this because most of the other Gundam shows are set in alternate timelines, as you may be aware. Thus, these anime shows are spin-offs of the original (I hope I'm not the only one who agrees). Anyway, this is more of a fan service kinda show.

In this Gundam anime, the story is set in the real world. Sorta. In this world, Gundam is VERY popular. Everybody and their parents and grandparents are into Gunpla. No joke.

But, in this world, there is another hobby aside from building Gunplas, and this is what they call "Gunpla Battle". It's sorta like in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, you see, where they have a field to play their card games on and monsters would be reanimated into holographic images. However, in Gunpla Battle, the Gunpla itself is used in battle and would take actual battle damage during the game.

Throughout the series, several characters challenge each other into Gunpla Battles using Gunplas they themselves built. Of course, the Gundam Models used within the anime are based on Mobile Suits from older Gundam shows. Which means... NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD!!!

Of course, to add some spice into the anime, the characters didn't just use straight-built Gunplas. Most characters have custom-built ones, so that they cound inject their personality into their Gunplas. The show does encourage customizing your Gunplas, as it is stated that the better a Gunpla is built, the better it performs during a Gunpla Battle.

The story revolves around Sei Iori, who has a massive obsession with anything related to Gundams. He is also an excellent "Gundam Builder" (or just "Builder"), which is what the show calls someone who build Gunplas. However, Sei sucks at Gunpla Battles, making him not fit to become a "Gundam Fighter", which is what the show calls someone who participates in Gunpla Battles.

Some of you might already be familiar with the concept. After all, this wasn't the first time that an anime like this was created. Perhaps I'll have an Anime Overview of that some other time. For now, if you haven't watched this anime before, I don't want to spoil you. (Not that spoilers would ruin the show, that is.) Of course, for you to be able to fully enjoy this Anime, you should've watched most (if not all) of the older Gundam shows. Like I said, this is like a fan service kinda show, and some of the scenes might not have that big of an impact if you didn't know them beforehand.

The animation, the soundtrack, the story... This anime just blew my mind! One of the best anime shows that I've watched so far! ...and, yeah, uhmmm, I don't really have anything else to say(all I got is praise for this series, haha). So, I'll see you on the next post!

Too Much Gunpla = Multiple Gunplas

Here's my NG Gundam Heavyarms, still untouched.
Because of activities at college, my schedule was pretty much locked down. I wasn't able to do any Gunpla building for more than a year now. Being a Computer Science student also didn't help. Most of the time, I had little to no sleep. Building computer programs eat up a lot of time, I discovered, but debugging them usually takes an eternity.

While my Gunpla-building activities were halted, I was still able to do a few Gundam-related stuff with the (little) spare time that I have. During my hiatus, I was able to watch the Gundam shows that were airing at the time, namely Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Fighters Try. I'm currently watching the latest Gundam anime, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. In rare ocassions, I also visit the mall. Of course, I check the toy section in the department store every time I come to the mall. Sometimes, I'm tempted to buy Gunplas. Sometimes, I give in to the temptation. Ehe.

No Posts Again?! "Another Hiatus"...

Hello again!

It's been a while since I've posted on Jyuzou's Blog. Well, actually, it's already been more than a year. *sigh*

I apologize again for the sudden halt of content. As I approach my higher years in college, I've been finding it hard to alot time for things aside from school work... For the past months, I haven't been sleeping for days because of the torrents of projects and super tight deadlines at school. I now have free time because we have a semester break that started around the second week of December, but my body just wants me to sleep all day for now...

Again, I'll try to post more stuff soon. Surprisingly for me, it's even hard to find time to spare for small stuff as well...

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season! We still have until January, so keep relaxing, and I'll see you on the next post!

The "New Weapon", Huawei Ascend G610-U20 [2014]!

Unlock to reveal Android awesomeness!
I would like you to meet my "new weapon", the Huawei Ascend G610!

Yes, I received an upgrade early this year and I was able to finally replace my old phone. I'm not going to do a thorough review of this smartphone. I'm sure there are a lot of websites out there with in-depth reviews of this unit. I would just like to dedicate a post about it since I'll be using it as my main gadget in my future adventures (and in everything I do, really). Yay!

Advanced Grade AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal Gunpla Unboxing & Review

The White Warrior that will protect everyone!
Alright, let's have a second go with Advanced Grade Gunpla Model Kits. This time, we're going to take a look at the main protagonist's Mobile Suit, Gundam AGE-1 Normal!

The Gundam AGE-1 Normal is the very first Gundam that appears in the series and is piloted by one of the main protagonists of the show, Flit Asuno. This will probably be the last kit I'll review in the Advanced Grade line of kits. (Hopefully, I'll be able to find more AG kits in the future.)

So, why don't we get started? Join me past the break for the full review!
